The body screams…

Night has fallen,
The day has gone and arrived again,
In the land of dreams my mind races,
Near to me a bundle of fur rests all warm,
He stirs, grooms, and purrs,

My body screams,
Hips, shoulders, ankles all yelling,
Eyes water and sleep fails,
Tears swell not of joy or sorrow,
The bundle seeks to console,
Relief remains just out of reach….

My mind races now awake,
Swirling round about,
Body screaming for attention,
Relief taken and yet not arriving,
Sleep long desired and yet a distant dream,

The bundle purrs,
Seeking to aid me back to where I was,
But the body keeps screaming,
Eventually the scream will quiet down a bit,
Then maybe the mind will rest and dreams return…
