These words ring though my mind as I reflect upon the many injustices of this world. As I read and hear how we claim to embrace the worth of all, that all are called, while we say no to this, and that and yell at one another for not agreeing with us on an issue. When we speak out for injustice done to us or another, and then do the same injustice. As we say publicly “we just want to talk” and privately we say “to make you see as I do, be like me and not like you” and no attempt to understand the other.
As I ponder the brokenness of the human family, as I reflect on words of scripture that remind us the Holy weeps and is pained by that brokenness, and calls us to act and we as a whole do so little, those words flow through my head.
As I encounter my brothers and sisters who feel estranged from their faith community, their spiritual home, these words flow through my head.
Let’s find a way to be the people the Holy calls us to be. Let’s find a way to bring forth healing and reconciliation. Let’s find a way to become healed and made whole. Let’s find a way to be united in our diversity. Let’s find a way to uplift the worth and dignity of all. Let’s find a way to respect and honour each life’s journey. Let’s find a way to prophetically move forward, engage the unknown solutions to problems which we face today and tomorrow. Let’s find a way to live Christ’s peace. Let’s find a way…
Let us act, let us stand up together united in Christ, diverse in our understandings, and let us transform the world. Let us stand with those outside the circle of the Christian family, united by a sense of the Holy, understood and expressed in many ways, and transform the world. Let’s find a way today…
Peace be with you,

Amen. I don’t know how, exactly, but let’s find a way.
