I sit here uncertain how I will transverse through all the work before me. It leads to so much stress, and yet I find myself at peace. Perhaps it is the wonderful sunlight beaming down from the sky today, or perhaps it is the joy of embracing four of the eight official sacraments this month.
Yesterday I attended Worthington Community of Christ and had the wonderful opportunity to experience both the Sacrament of the Blessing of Children and the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. This coming Saturday two of my friends will be celebrating with friends and family the Sacrament of Marriage, unfortunately due to schoolwork and that I will be preaching Sunday, and the distance between here and the wedding I will not be able to celebrate in person with them. A week from Thursday I will be flying to Oregon and on the 20th will have the opportunity to be at a service where the Sacrament of Baptism by Water will be celebrated. (Perhaps also the Sacrament of Baptism by the Spirit [a.k.a. the Sacrament of Confirmation] as they are sometimes done in the same service and other times up to several weeks apart).
It is a Joyful and wonderful experience to embrace with others and to celebrate in community these sacramental and amazing events. I am so glad that Community of Christ is a sacramental church and that I have this wonderful opportunity to share in so many of the sacraments this month, even if not always in person.
I will try and remember the amazing grace of the Eternal One and that amazing restoring love that is expressed in the sacraments, and in all things which are sacramental even if they may not be sacraments. Let us strive to restore the world to that which it is created to be.
Peace be with one and all,
— Lyle II
