This morning I awoke and got ready for school. I checked my school e-mail and saw information about the schools policy regarding closing of the school and then I left my apartment.
I walked down the stairs to my car and brushed several inches of snow off of it. I got in and slowly drove the short distance to school, arriving a bit after 8. There were fewer cars than normal, but that was expected as the weather was surely slowing the commute of some, and perhaps keeping those far away from traveling. I got out of the car and walked into Gualt hall and to my classroom. To my surprise I was the first there.
A few minutes later another student walked in and said, “Did, you year, no Afternoon classes”
I went “No, but at least there is morning classes, so we didn’t drive in for nothing” (Or something along those lines). A couple of others came in and some had seen the Prof already so knew she had made it in. Then in came the Prof and as she enter the room she said to us “Go, Home Go home” and canceled our class. Thus, I placed my coat once more upon my body, and walked back to my car. On the way I encounter fellow classmates, some who had driven an hour and a half, others who were staying on campus. Some wondering why, others just wishing they had know before they made the trip.
I scraped off the rear window of my car, got in and slowly drove home. I walked up the stairs, entered my apartment, checked my school e-mail to see that during my commute the president of the school sent out an e-mail informing that the school was closing down at noon.
Thus now I must figure out what to do on this unexpected snow day, besides watching the snow fall from they sky.
Peace be with you,
