This morning I awoke at about 5:30am. I was soon up, showered, dressed, contacts in and ready to go, even though I knew we would not leave until a little after 8.When we arrived a bit after 9am, I started my final stages of preparation, which included praying, doing some adjustments to the worship setting… and getting a little nervous/stressed…
I believe the service went well, though there were a few slight hiccups. The first being that the first hymn, Center of Peace, was skipped. The second hiccup that was for sure noticed by all that were worshiping was the Prayer of confession and Prayers of the People. One of the the mics didn’t get switched on right away, and it had lowered itself and the boom was touching the music stand. So as the good presider I quickly went over turned on the mic, and adjusted the mic correctly while the second reader was reading. I think all the other hiccups were probably not noticed by anyone else, but I noticed them(as most had to do with me and what I had planned to say/do and what I did say/do). All in all though, I think the service went well. I know I benefited from the ministry that was offered, and I hope others did also.
The Service did go over by about 15 minutes, however Family of God went over by about 10-15 minutes. As this happens fairly frequently, maybe we should adjust the official times to either a) make Family of God start earlier or b) say that the main portion ends at 12:15, rather than at noon.
Peace be with one and all,
