The past few days I have felt the desire to write. I have now the start of two different works. At the present time I do not wish to go into great detail. Primarily because, though I greatly desire to write these two works, I know that I sometimes start projects and do not get them finished. As such I do not want to have you read I am writing a paper / book about xyz, and then ask me twenty-five years from now what ever happened to it and the answer be “I started it, I have it somewhere but I just never finished it.” Along with that, there is also the possibility you may read my idea and decided to write about it and get it finished before I do. Granted as the first project is in part around my theological understandings. The second however is a work with a primary focus on a specific part of Community of Christ theology and historical reflections in regards to that aspect of Community of Christ life. As I don’t wand five books compeating with it, or coming out thirty years before it with the same approach and focus….
It is this second work, which I started today that I am most excited and interested in. My desired result at this time, would be for it to turn into a book and that there would be several “guest” authors from various places around the world to contribute their voices. Then this work would be published and hopefully be a work that would inspire, challenge, and/or encourage those who make up Community of Christ.
I have two concerns over my ability to do this second work. The first is of course: Will I stay focused and see it through; and the second being: I am not presently in close proximity to some of the resources that I need to see the work through.
Time will tell how it goes… Maybe in a few years it will be completed, corrected, and published.
Peace
