A challenge

January 30, 2006 @ 4:10 pm

I just got off the phone with one of the pastors of one of the congregations I call my home. She asked me if I would be willing to do something. It is something that I think many people would be uncomfortable in doing, but it is a ministry that does need to be done. I did not feel it was best at that moment to say that I would, but rather I said I would need to think about it.

Also as it would require me to travel a bit, and as we only have one vechicle operating at present I will need to make some arangments about that. That was my main reason for hesitating, as I do not want to say yes, unless I know that I will be able to.

I can not say no, if I am able to do this….

Open your hearts and feel the yearnings of your brothers and sisters who are lonely, despised, fearful, neglected, unloved. Reach out in understanding, clasp their hands, and invite allto share in the blessings of community created in the name of the One who suffered on behalf of all.
Do not be fearful of one another. Respect each life journey, even in its brokenness and uncertainty, for each person has walked alone at times. Be ready to listen and slow to criticize, lest judgments be unrighteous and unredemptive.
