Yesterday I went to Church at the Rainier Valley Community of Christ for the first time; it’s about a 45 min bus trip from my place. Not knowing what time things got started there, I arrive plenty early.
It is a small congregation with a bunch of kind wonderful people. This coming Sunday I have been asked to speak about this summer and so along with starting my academic life this week, and unpacking, I will also be preparing a sermon on Pursuing Justice.
Today was a reflection day for the M.Div students here at SU. I got up early this morning and was ready for it by 5:30 so rather than waiting for the 6:15 bus a block from my place, I walked downtown to where my first transfer was to be, got there 15 mins before the bus from my place would have, but took a while to find my transfer stop as the next bus stop I was to be at was underground, but I found it with 8 minutes to spare, took a nice trip out to federal way, transferred busses, got off that bus and walked 1/2 to the retreat center.
It was a great day, then I caught a ride to SU with a couple of fellow M. Div students and I have been here since about 4:15. Went to Grad student orientation, checked mail and all that stuff, bought my Oct buss pass, and a video tape for one of my classes so now am getting ready to head home for a night of relaxation…. okay s I might watch TV if I can get good reception on a channel w/ something interesting or good to watch, might read for my classes this week, and might unpack a bit. Tomorrow I plan on unpacking all my clothes and my books if I don’t do that tonight. I might come up to the school for a swim, or to run or do some form of exercise and check mail and stuff.
Well I better go home and feed my cat, as I am sure she is hungry as most of what I gave her this morning was gone before I left and that was 13 hours ago.
